"Shraddhaavaan labhatay Gnyaanam...."
was the quote that was present on my childhood school days' report card's rear side.....
Being Shraddaavaan is a great trait of a
"Vidyaa arthi..." which alone doesn't constitute a successful educating mechanism......
That "Vidyaa arthi.." needs to be in the company of "Vidyaa pradaata..." i.e.,
a teacher, as known in the generic terms,
in order to make sure that our Shraddha finds its successful destination.....
It's akin to a solar energy receiving system that needs to be placed in the right place so that it successfully draws the maximum solar power from the universal solar power emitter, the Sun.....
A few would dry their clothes and other eatables (like paapadams, raw mango slices, tomato slices, etc) under the Sun......
A few would install solar power generation systems and use it for solar water heaters, etc, to supplement their existing hydro/thermal electricity supply system.....
A few would make solar powered satellites that draw the power, required to propel the entire Satellite system, from the sun and launch it in to the appropriate spatial orbit via PS or GS launch vehicles to do many technological wonders that are comprehendable entities via various frequencies and wavelengths applicable for the chosen transmission / reception system.....
A few would choose specific Sanskrit Gaayatri shlokams, stotrams/hymns to pray a humongous self luminous star shining brightly in the skies by terming it as God with various names like SuryaNaaraayanaMoorthi / PratyakshaNaaraayanaMoorthi / Aaditya / Savitrumandala devata / and so on and so forth....to make their memory and intelligence as sharp and wise as the glorious Sun and his radiance....
As can be observed here, an entity named Sun is just the same for one and all.....
However, he and his energy / power are being perceived differently by each person or system via various methodologies according to the customized paraphernalia / literary applications used and are thus calling it as the blessings of Sun......
Now tell me.... is it that a Sun is just a normal mediocre entity for drying up the raw mango / tomato slices, paapadams etc....
or an extremely magnanimous entity that is the very source of the mighty intellect and wisdom being derived from the same.....
in the form of external solar power to power up their orbitting spatial satellite systems and the corresponding down link mechanism in the base stations via allotted frequencies by the space scientists working in ISRO / NASA
by exploring and tapping the Sun's energy via solar panels and other requisite equipments with the allied embedded firmware.......
in the form of internal solar power being captured by the mighty VedaGhanaapaatees and other Pandits who form the intellectuals impacting the world with their mighty executions.....
So would be the case with a Guru / a teacher....
referred to as "Jnyaana Bhaaskara",...,
with an additional great trait of
imparting the knowledge and wisdom much more specifically to all those who respect them and humbly seek refuge under their tutelage.....
Let me take an example to explain the magnanimity of a Guru, that I have listened to from sadguru Shree ChaaganTi gaari discourses....
Once upon a time, some students
(KuruPaanDava children and a few others) were playing with a wooden ball and all of a sudden it fell in to a huge well near by...
Their master Dronaachaarya asks them to get the ball out of the well without getting in to the well using only bow and arrows with the knowledge imparted to them in the archery subject......
They were surprised at their Guruji's words to listen to such a near impossible task and kept pondering over the same.....
After sometime Dronaacharya smiled at his students and showed them the same...
The mighty Drona took his bow and shot the first arrow aiming at the ball floating on the water such that it penetrates deeper enough to establish a firm grip on the same.....
And then he shot another arrow such that it hits the tail of the first arrow to form a connecting link.....and continues multiple subsequent shots such that they all form a chain of arrows....
When the last arrow shot is reachable enough, he then took out the entire chain of arrows and got the ball out of the well......
Looking at the wonder art of archery displayed by their Guruji, all the students over there were simply spell bound and prostrated in front of the unparalleled Dronaachaarya for teaching them such an exemplary archery skill.....

It is for this reason, Arjuna became such a savyasaachi by being a great admirer & a humble disciple of Dronaa and prostrated to his guru Dronaachaarya even though the latter had to be in the opposition with the Kauravas....
And it is for this reason, at the end of the Kurukshetra battle, Lord Krishna says....
"O my dear Arjuna...Now will you please get down from your chariot and go farther from it....so that I can ask Lord Hanuman residing in the flag located atop your chariot to leave the same...."
When Arjuna gets down and does the same, the chariot gets burnt in to ashes in no time.....
A shell shocked Arjuna asks....
"Baava....what is this...I am unable to understand what has just happened..!"
to which Lord Krishna answers....
"O my dear baammardi Arjuna.....
With the powerful arrows shot by great archers like Bheeshma and Drona, your chariot was supposed to get burnt in to ashes a long ago.....I, along with lord Hanuman have protected it with our tapahShakti so that you can successfully win your opponents..... "

Akin to the aforementioned Dronaachaarya's mighty archery skills,
A Guru is that mighty personality who would successfully uplift a Shishya / disciple from the wells of ignorance via his exemplary teaching / guiding / mentoring skills so very well....
A sadguruvaakku is like the very first arrow shot on to the ball....
It should get firmly seated in the hearts of a student such that it gives us a means to uplift ourselves via the subsequent teachings....
When a Guruji says
" Oka pelliko / function ko veltay.....
renDu / inni rakaala sweets vesaaranDi....ani anukovaDam lo....
anniTlo unnadi okay bellam / okay teepi
anay satyaanni grahinchinavaaDu naamaroopaalatoa taadaatmyata chendaDu......andunDay tattwa satyanni / vividha naama roopaatmaka loaka reetini grahinchi unnatini saadhistaaDu".....
It will immediately impart the Adwaita tattwa siddhi to a Shishya when he introspects on such a simple yet a significantly strong example of tattwa vichaarana that preaches....
"ekam sat vipraah bahudhaa vadanti..."
On the occasion of such a great teachers day celebrations across the nation,
