మహలయపక్షం / పితృదేవతారాధన / బ్రహ్మదేవకృత పితృస్తోత్రం...

శ్రీదుర్గానవరాత్రి / శరన్నవరాత్రి ఉత్సవాలు ప్రారంభమవ్వడానికి ముందు ఉండే పక్షం రోజుల సమయాన్ని ( భాద్రపద బహుళ పక్ష సమయం ) మహాలయపక్షం అని,

ఆశ్వయుజ శుద్ధ పాడ్యమికి ముందు ఉండే

అమవాస్యను పితృఅమావాస్య ( వికృతి గా జనబాహుళ్యంలో పెత్తరమాస గా రూపంతరం చెంది పిలువబడే పితృదేవతా సంబంధిత స్వధా కార్యక్రములకోసము పంచాంగ వ్యవస్థలో ప్రతిసంవత్సరము పేర్కొనబడే అమావాస్య తిథి )

అని పేర్కొనడం గురించి సంప్రదాయం తెలిసిన చాల మందికి తెలిసేఉంటుంది.... 

శ్రీచాగంటి సద్గురువులు వివరించినట్టుగా, సనాతన సంప్రదాయానికి ఉనికిపట్లైన తమిళనాడు లాంటి ప్రాంతాల్లో అయితే ఈ 15 రోజులు చాలామంది కేవలం పితృకార్యాములకు మాత్రమే తమ సమయాన్ని కేటాయించడం పరిపాటి... 

తల్లి తండ్రులు గతించినవారు పెద్దలకు సంవత్సరంలో ఒక్క రోజు ఎంతో శ్రద్ధతో చేయవలసిన వారి వారి తిథి నాడు కాకుండా, ఈ భాద్రపద బహుళ పక్షం లోని మహాలయపక్షం లో మళ్ళీ ప్రత్యేకించి పితృదేవతారాధన చేయడంలో, అనగా ఈ పైతృక మహాలయపక్షం యొక్క ఆంతర్యమేమి..??

అనే సందేహం జిజ్ఞ్యాసువులైన  కొంతమందికైనా ఎప్పుడో ఒకప్పుడు వచ్చే ఉంటుంది....

సంకల్ప పఠనంలో చెప్పబడే భువరాది 14 లోకాలు కాకుండా ఈ పితృలోకం ఎక్కడిది..? పితృదేవతలు అనే పదం వారికి ఎట్లు అన్వయమయ్యింది..? వారికి అక్కడ ఏం పని..? అక్కడికి ఎట్లా వెళ్ళారు..? అక్కడినుండి ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తారు...?

ఇక్కడ భూలోకంలో బొటనవేలిపై నుండి వారిని ఉద్దేశ్యించి జారవిడిచే తిలోదకాలు (నల్లనువ్వులు+నీరు) ఎట్లు వారికి చేరును..? చేరిన తదుపరి కర్తకు అనగా ఆ పైతృక క్రియలను ఆచరించిన వారి వంశీకులకు ఎట్లు వారు అనుగ్రహమును ప్రసాదింతురు...?

ఇత్యాది విషయల గురించి ఎంతో మందికి ఎప్పుడో ఒకప్పుడు సందేహాలు రాకమానవు....

పుట్టామా, పెరిగామా,చదువుకున్నామా, ఏదో ఒక వృత్తిలో ఉద్యోగ జీవితాన్ని స్థిరపరుచుకున్నామా, బాగ సంపాదించామా, మన పిల్లలకు బాగా 

సమకూర్చిపెట్టి వాళ్ళు మనలా కష్టపడకుండా సంతోషంగా జీవించేందుకు తగు కర్తవ్యాన్ని నిర్వహించామా, ఒక 70/80/90 దాటినతదుపరి ఏదో రుగ్మతతో

మోసుకొని ఒక జన్మను స్వీకరించి అది లయం గావింపబడడమే ప్రారబ్ధకర్మ...

"గంగానదీతీరంలోని ఇసుకరేణువులనైనా లెక్కించవచ్చేమో కాని ఒక జీవుడు ఎందుకు ఎన్ని జన్మలను స్వీకరించాడో వివరించతరం కాదు..." అనే శ్రీచాగంటి సద్గురువుల వచనం కొందరికైనా గుర్తుండిఉండాలి.....

ఎందుకంటే కర్మసిద్ధాంతం కడు గహనమైనది కాబట్టి.... 

కాని కర్మ కన్ననూ ఈశ్వరానుగ్రహం అనే దైవిక వ్యవస్థ మరింత గహనమైనది కాబట్టే గతించి ఒక నిర్దేశిత తలానికి చేరుకొని విశ్రమించే జీవుడికి సదరు వంశానికి చెందిన పితృదేవత అనే స్థానంలో ఉండి వారి వారి వంశీకులనుండి ఆరాధానలను స్వీకరించే వ్యవస్థ మన సనాతన ధర్మంలో అనాదిగా అంతర్భాగమై ఉండి ఆచరించిన వాల్లెలరికి అనుగ్రహదాయకమై వర్ధిలుతుంది.... 

" 22 సంవత్సరాల క్రితం గతించిన ఒక నిండు ముత్తైదువ ఇప్పుడు ఒక చిన్నారిపాపగా వారి వంశంలో జన్మించి, ఇంకో 4 సంవత్సరాలకు స్కూల్ కి వెళ్ళేటప్పుడు ఫ్యాన్సి డ్రెస్స్ షో కోసం ఈ పాపకు ఒక రూపాయి బిళ్ళంత కుంకుమబొట్టు, ఒక ముత్యాల హారం, ఒక ధోవతి స్టైల్లో ఉండే మడికట్టు చీరను అలంకరిస్తే అచ్చం  వాళ్ళ జేజమ్మ లా ఉంటే ఎవ్వరైనా అనే కామన్ డైలాగ్...

"మీ పాప డిట్టొ మీ నానమ్మ కు కలర్ కాపి లా ఉంది బాబు.." అని అనడం సాధారణంగా సీరియల్స్ లో, సినిమాల్లో చూస్తూంటాము..."

అంటే తెలిసో తెలియకో మనిషి తన దైనందిన జీవితంలో పునర్జన్మ సిద్ధాంతం గురించి ఎప్పుడో ఒకప్పుడు మాట్లాడడం గురించి వినేఉంటారు.... 

మరియు శ్రీ చాగంటి సద్గురువులు చెప్పినట్టుగా సనాతనధర్మంలో బొట్టు పెట్టుకోవడానికి అర్థం 

"నేను పునర్జన్మ సిద్ధాంతమును నమ్ముచున్నాను...అందుకు ప్రతీకగా నా నుదుటిపై తిలకం/తిరునామం/శ్రీచూర్ణం/విభూతి/కుంకుమ/గంధం ఇత్యాదిగా సుగంధ ద్రవ్యభరిత బొట్టును ధరించుచున్నాను..."

కాబట్టి ఈ పితృదేవతలు, పితృలోకం కాన్సెప్ట్ ఏంటో ఒక సింపుల్ లౌకిక ఉదాహరణ తో డిస్కస్ చేద్దాం....

For those of you who are aware of the software product development / SDLC activities, apart from the regular list of 

"Dev Bugs List" / "Sustaining Bugs List" dealt by the core R&D Qa and CQ / Customer facing Qa respectively...,

there is another bugs' list maintained known as "Deferred Bugs List" which holds all those bugs that are targeted for a particular later release vehicle based on the then appropriateness of the bug which could be a must-to-have fix or an enhancement or good-to-have fix or an enhancement etc which wouldn't be generally a part of the regular Dev/Sus bugs list....

Similarly apart from the list of Gods / Demigods that are akin to the CoreQa Tickets / Sustaining Tickets, there is another list of Gods known as Pitrudevatalu that are akin to the Deferred Bugs' / Tickets' list....

How long does a bug/ticket stay in the deferred bugs' list and in which release does it get accomodated depends on various factors that together decide the dynamic resolution / incorporation of the bug in a specific release.

Similarly, how long does a Jeevaatma stay in the pitrulokam and gets referred to as pitrudeavata and when do they move on to their further journey ( either taking a punarjanma in their clan or taking some other upaadhi as per the merit gained by the pitrudevata upaadhi in accordance to the SwadhaaKaaryakramam / Tarpanam / Daanam / Shraaddhavidhi etc performed by their folks on their names depends on various cosmic factors....

In general 3 years of time is usually a decent enough time for a bug to stay in the deferred list to find it's way forward...

And quite similarly, in general 3 generations of elders are accommodated in the pitru lokam giving the status of "pitru devata" who would become eligible to receive all the offerings performed on their name to gain as much merit as they can to move forward to a new life....

In this context the 

" MahaalayaPaksham " is an important activity for the mortals on the earth to seek the blessings of their deceased elders by paying obeisance to them in all possible ways to enhance their merit/puNyam year on year...

We pray them to enhance the magnitude of the puNyam/merit of their adorned pitrudeavataa upaadhi and they in-turn bless us to enhance our puNyam which will fetch us all the worldly materialistic riches and progeny. All the people who have become rich owing to their pitrudevataa blessings never forget their pitrudevataa aaraadhana for that they know that it is their ancestors blessings that has filled their lives with riches and progeny to become heirs to those worldly riches.

The well known verse recited in the temples from Taittireeya Upanishad extolls the pitrudevataaraadhana saying...

Satyam Vada ;

Dharmam Chara ;

Swaadhyaya pravachanaabhyam na pramaditavyam ;

Deava pitru kaaryaabhyaam na pramaditavyam ;

and so on goes on the Shrutivaakyam...

)

For those of you who have had a chance to listen to the intricacies of Nakshatra Shaastra vaibhawam in sadguru Shree ChaaganTi gaari discourses, the actual list of stars starts from Ashwini, Bharani, Kruttika, Rohini, MrugaShira etc.....

though our lunar almanac months' calender starts with Chaitra maasam corresponding to the Chittaa Nakshatram.... 

So, if one can pay proper attention, Bhaadrapada maasam is the last month in the Nakshatrakramam 

(Poorvaabhaadra --> Uttaraabhaadra --> Revati and then the cycle gets re-started with Ashwini nakshatram of Aashwayuja maasam for the time to go through the 27 stars visible from the earth realm.) 

All along the year, several stars / days / festivals / are celebrated in the name of various gods / demi gods of which none of them are associated with the Pitrudevataa aaraadhana ( other than the one day on which the Shraaddham is performed to the respective pitrudeavata by the eldest Son of the family the deceased member belongs to ) So, after the 23 fortnights of an year are made busy with the worship of all the known gods/demigods, the last 24th fortnight is exclusively dedicated for the pitrudevataaraadhana which will bestow certain specific form of blessings that will protect their respective clan from the Aashwayuja maasa YamadamShtra.....

( As explained by sadguru Shree ChaaganTi gaaru, Aashwayuja maasam and Chaitra maasam known for the Sharannavaraatri / Durga pooja and Vasanta navaraatri of Ugaadi through ShreeRaamaNavami are the most active times for YamaDharmaRaaja to amass as many lives as possible.... Hence the Deavataaraadhana too is performed in high magnitudes to bestow with great amount of divine grace. Especially Aashwayuja maasam falls in the Dakshinaayanam where in the Sun is relatively farther from the earth and makes it even more easy for Lord Yama to pull in as many souls as possible because SooryaShakti is AatmaShakti kaarakam... Hence less AatmaShakti implies more power to Lord Yama to carry on his activities with ease..)

The Pitrudevataa aaradhana in the Mahaalayapaksham that is performed towards the entities known as Pitrudevatalu located in a special plane known as Pitrulokam, will start conferring equivalent AatmaShakti anugraham that will balance the factor missing from the Sun because of it's relatively farther movement from the mortal plane, the earth.

Thus Mahaalayapaksham / Pitrudevataa aaraadhana has been very wisely embedded in the panchaanga vyavastha in the last fortnight of the actual almanac sequence of stars starting from the Ashwini ending with Revathi amongst which the last coalition of the moon would be in either PoorvaBhaadrapada or UttaraaBhaadrapada nakshatrams in the Bhaadrapada maasam...

There are many ways of worshipping Gods / DemiGods / Pithrudevatalu of which reciting a stotram created / written by powerful personalities would go a long way in blessing the readers profusely in accordance with the power of the Sanskrit Hymns present in the Stotram

because Sanskrit is the language of Gods and thus is much more effective in getting strongly connected with the destined super human planes / entities / beings with it's appropriate recital...

Attached is one such mighty Stotram named 

"Brahmadeva krutha PitruDevataa stotram..." which is one of the magnanimous recitals to confer the pitruDevataa blessings upon us.....

Reciting it on the Bhaadrapada new moon day / Pithru Amaavaasya tithi in the Mahaalayapaksham would be even more meritorious...
