It is a staunch belief of all the Indians all over the world, that an enlightened Guru is the source of all forms of inspiration and motivation in-order to march forward successfully in their respective life journeys...
And thus the chair of a Guru holds a great prominence in the Indian spiritual diaspora.
Even lords who descended on to the planet earth in various avataars exalted the greatness of a Guru by their humble Namaskaaram to their Aacharyas...
TreataYugam's ShreemadRaamaayan's sage Shree Vashistha and Shree Vishwaamitra being the kul guru and vidyaa guru of Lord Shree Raam, made him an epitome of unfathomable knowledge and wisdom amalgamated with strength and courage so much so that an asur named Maareecha praised Lord Shree Raam in front of Raavanaasura as below..
रामो विग्रहवान् धर्मस्साधुस्सत्यपराक्रमः।
राजा सर्वस्य लोकस्य देवानां मघवानिव।।3.37.13।।
Raama is dharma incarnate. He is pious. His strength is truth. He is the king of all the worlds like Indra to the gods.
The reason Raama has gained so much of magnanimity is that he believed in whatever his Gurus have preached, with utmost faith and respect. It is this immaculate faith in the belief being followed, that makes a person complete and successful in their respective lives for which the concept of a Guru serves as a power house of the requisite intellect to be gained and wisdom to be exuded.
Lakshmana, who has been with Raama all along their journey right from sage Vishwamitra's Yaaga Samrakshana ghattam, knows the power of his brother Raama's righteousness and faith and thus while aiming a powerful Aindraastram, he uttered the below verse and released the arrow aimed at Meghanaath that took him down subsequently though he had the name of Indrajith..
धर्मात्मासत्यसन्धश्चरामोदाशरथिर्यति ।।6.91.71।।
पौरुषेचाप्रतिद्वन्द्वःशरैनंजसिरावणिम् ।
"If Dasharatha's son, Sri Rama is righteous, truthful, of unrivalled valour and true to his promise this arrow will kill Indrajith."
Now look at this interesting aspect....
Lord Devendra could not win this rouge Meghanaath with any of his accumulated astrasampada which implies even Vajraayudham too has been subsumed by Meghanaath's astra sampada...
And the same Meghanaatha could not win over Lakshmana when such Indraas' blessed asthram, Aindraastram was shot at him after its metamorphosis into Dharmaastram by the above words of Lakshmana....
Such is the unparalleled power of the belief vested in the concept of a Guru as can be seen in our very own ShreemadRaamaayanam.....
The below words of Lord Brahma are a testimony to the power of the epic ShreemadRaamaayanam which is of widespread glory even today and shall be thereafter as well...
यावत् स्थास्यन्ति गिरयस्सरितश्च महीतले ।
तावद्रामायणकथा लोकेषु प्रचरिष्यति ।।1.2.36।।
As long as the mountains and rivers exist on this earth, the story/power of Ramayana will prevail among the people.
Now coming to this KaliYugam that has started after the ShreeKrishna Niryaanam that dates back to almost 5125 years ago...,
Sage VedaVyaasa Maharshi (it's essentially a divine post that is adorned by those pious souls whose higher order merit's magnitude is as much as that of the deva loka guru sage Brihaspati's)
is considered as the paramaguru of all the known and unknown gurus. He is regarded as the author of 18 puraanams / epics and Vedavibhaaga karta.
And thus the lineage of the entire Guruparampara starting from the Aadi Guru Shree MedhaaDakdhinaamoorthy up until any and every guruswaroopam being worshipped by the intellectuals, is considered as a direct blessing of sage VedaVyaasa Maharshi and is respected by reciting the below shlokam on this auspicious Gurupournami / VyaasaPournami festivel day....
नमोस्तुते व्यास विशाल बुद्धे,
फुल्लार विन्दायत पत्रनेत्र।
येन त्वया भारत तैल पूर्ण:
प्रज्वालितो ज्ञान मय: प्रदीप:।।
On such a magnanimous day, here's my humble saashtaanga Namaskaara poorvaka savinayaakshara sumaanjali at the lotus feet of sathguru Shree Chaaganti gaaru yet again, under whose online tutelage I learnt about this great shlokam long long ago, along with many other oceanic ancient magnanimous spiritual literary treasures that continue to illumine my thoughts' paths in-order to have a consciously well calibrated approach towards achieving my aspirations....
As far as I believe, right from a small chartered flight to a gigantic Airbus, every aircraft requires the runway to be well lit and well established,
in-order to have a successful take-off and landing, irrespective of their air travel paths and global destinations...
Quite similarly, right from any typical mediocre intellectual to the most celebrated intellectuals of the world, all of them would implicitly or explicitly consider and respect a guiding beacon as their Guru that may be a person or anything else serving as a source of continuous inspiration and motivation for a successful path to be tread in their respective fields in-order to have a fruitful journey.
