From my Sadguru ShreeChaaganti gaari discourses, there is a great message in Ganeshji's worship during this Bhaadrapada Sukla Chaturthi (Ganesh Chaturthi)....
After a forest grows thick and deep with all the creepers, bushes, herbs off of the monsoon rains, the various important walk ways towards water ponds, food crops etc, get covered with those lush greens and it becomes difficult for all the forest dwellers to locate them properly and they often are mislead due to no proper visible path.
An elephant first treads the path with its ' mighty steps ' breaking all the obstacles in between and re-establishes the path making it clearly visible for the rest of the inhabitants thus helping them to reach the same to and fro intact.....
Similarly, in one's life ' Ganesha Aaradhana ', especially during this Dakshinaayana Bhaadrapada time,
breaks all the obstacles in one's life that have become a big hindrance (known or unknown) to their progress and makes their path clearly visible to tread it firmly thereafter....
